Oh my gosh, yes please! Bring your doggos, naked hairless cats, goats, etc and let’s all hang out!

We can reschedule if the weather is really that awful, but some of my favorite sessions ever have been in rain/fog/snow storms! And wind? Pshhh… wind is what I pray we get before every shoot! Embracing the weather makes for incredible photos. The only times I’ve rescheduled photos due to weather will make your experience miserable or uncomfortable, or if my camera gear could be ruined. We will make the decision together whether we need to reschedule or not. Because of how unpredictable the weather can be in Texas, I usually won’t reschedule a session until the day of, so that I have a more accurate forecast to take into account.

As much as I’d love for all of us to hang out with your mom or BFF — I’m sure they’re amazing people, but I’d ask that they not come with us. I want you and your babe to relax and enjoy yourselves. It might be a bit awkward having your mom or a friend behind me watching you two make-out and cuddle the heck out of each other.

Schedule your session around the sun. You may have heard there are certain times of the day that are better for photos and that’s all because of light! Golden hour, which is that beautiful time of day 1 hour before the sun sets, is when you want to shoot if you’re looking for that glowy, magical light in your photos. It’s important to be aware of when the sun is going to set (you can check your weather app to find this out!) so that we have plenty of time to shoot before the light is gone. Although for in-home sessions I recommend we shoot in the early afternoon so the sunlight can naturally light up the rooms. Sunrise morning light can also be magical and gorgeous! It’s also the best time to have an early shoot if the area is known to be crowded. Most people prefer to sleep in and start their day in the afternoon, so going to a place at sunrise would be highly suggested to beat the crowds. If you’re not sure what time our shoot should be just ask me and we can plan together the timeline of your day.

I recommend only changing one time into a different outfit. Two or more changes into our session can really eat up our time together. I'd rather use the majority of our time together to take photos than to spend too much of our daylight changing outfits.

A week before our scheduled shoot, you’ll receive an email or text on a time and place to meet. I like for us to meet at least 15-30 minutes early to our meeting spot so we can get to know each other if we haven’t formally met in person. We can use this time to look through your clothes and accessories you brought, let you change clothes, and also give us time to walk to our shooting spot. I love to chat and hang out with my couples at the beginning so we all feel comfortable and excited to take pictures.

I'll give us a break about half way through, if you'd like to change into a different outfit or check out a new spot in the area to explore. If you've brought props like champagne, pizza, blankets, etc... with you let me know so we can use them in your photos.
